How to prepare for NTSE
NTSE Preparation Tips
- Follow what was taught at school and at coaching centre
- Pay close attention to your weak points for many students it could be the Social Science portion and Mental Ability section
- Practice MAT on a regular basis to enhance speed and improve accuracy
- Study each topic of Social Science from NCERT since most of the SSc questions in NTSE stage 1 are from NCERT .regularly solve practice papers.
- For PCMB, refer to class notes, coaching centre modules and NCERT textbooks
- Solve previous years’ papers in the last few days before the exam to get an insight into the paper pattern.
- time management and punctuality are the most important keys not just for NTSE, but for all other competitive exams.
- taking a break after every 1.5 hours of studies like in the coaching /schools
Here are a few steps to memorize study notes
- Start with your weakest subject for exam preparation
- Go through all the NCERT chapters thoroughly and highlight all the important points.
- Pay attention in school and in your coaching centre if you are taking classes as most of your preparation will be completed there itself
- Revise the topics taught in the class on the same day itself
- You can decide a time table specific for your own capabilities for each subject-science, mathematics, social science and mental ability,so that no subject goes untouched.
- Understand each and every concept. Once you know the concept, time to time you need to memorize everything.
- Create a story line in my mind and establish linkages to some known items / things
- Revise your notes on a regular basis
